D'Angelo Jiménez (born December 21, 1977 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a Major League baseball player for the St. Louis Cardinals. He is an infielder that plays primarely second base. He made his major league debut with the New York Yankees in 1999.
In 2002, Jiménez appeared in a game as a pitcher for the San Diego Padres. He pitched 1 1/3 innings, allowing no hits and no runs. On October 23, 2006 Jiménez was released by the Oakland Athletics making him a free agent.
Jiménez started 2007 with the Columbus Clippers. The Washington Nationals purchased his contract on April 4, 2007. He appeared primarily as a pinch-hitter and defensive replacement, but he was not a successful hitter. He has since returned to Columbus.
On July 19th 2007, Jimenez was called as a pinch hitter and drove in the game winning single after being in a horrible slump batting .040[1]
He signed a minor league contract with the Cardinals on December 19.
