The DSL-G604T is an integrated Wireless/ADSL router with 100Base-T hub from the D-Link corporation that aims to provide both wireless and wired networking capability to its users. Commonly used in both the home and office it is but one of many such tools on the market as of May 2006.
This product has met with mixed reviews, some saying setup and use are relatively simple while others report problems such as a high pitched whining sound (the whining noise does appear to be a recognised fault and D-link have replaced "faulty" units with very little fuss ... being able to hear the whine depends on your hearing sensitivity) and spontaneous loss of settings or connection. While these vary it is difficult to ascertain the cause of such varied opinions as manufacturing techniques are standardised. The majority of the time user error is blamed any setup issues although they vehemently deny any wrongdoing for obvious reasons.
[edit] Technical Details
The G604T runs MontaVista and busybox Linux which allows a degree of customisation with customised firmware.
