Czech Republic debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest with rock band Kabát, with the song "Malá Dáma", a song chosen in a national final during Eurosong 2007, on March 10, 2007 in Prague. The Czech broadcaster, Česká televize, invited some of the artists directly, while the others were chosen based on the results of the national top 50 singles chart. The rock band Kabát won the national final with the song "Malá dáma".

In the semi-final on May 10, Kabat performed in the 16th spot, just after the eventual winner Serbia. But they ended up with only one point, resulting in a last place on their debute. Only three other countries have done this.
