The CZAW SportCruiser is a two seat, single engine, tricycle undercarriage, fixed-wing aircraft that was introduced in 2006 by Czech Aircraft Works (CZAW).[1]

The SportCruiser is designed to fit into the ultralight or microlight category in several countries as well as the USA's Light-sport Aircraft category. It can be delivered either as a kit, or as a fully built production model.[1]

The aircraft is of all aloy construction with a low wing configuration.[1]

The SportCruiser's engine is either a Rotax 912ULS[1] or a Jabiru 3300[citation needed]. Approved propellors include: Woodcomp SR3000 2 and 3 blade, Woodcomp Classic 3 blade.[citation needed]

The SportCruiser is capable of cruise at 133 mph (115 knots or 215 km/h)[1] and of achieving up to 6 hours endurance - or a range of 630 statute miles (1020 km). No wind, standard day gross weight takeoff is achieved in 82 metres (265 feet) and landing in 123 metres (400 feet).[1]

The SportCruiser is accepted as US FAA LSA, FAA homebuilt kit[1] and accepted as home-built kit in the Netherlands and U.K.[citation needed]

By the fall of 2007 eight SportCruisers had been completed and were flying.[1]
