Cytora ampla is a species of small land snail, a terrestrial gastropod mollusc in the family Liareidae.

This species is endemic to the North Island of New Zealand, found at Cape Maria van Diemen and North Cape.
[edit] Shell description
The shell is large for the genus, broadly trochiform, with rounded whorls, sculptured with numerous, weak, axial growth lines. The umbilicus is about one seventh the diameter of the shell.
Coloration of the shell is variable, either uniformly dull reddish-brown or spirally lined in a paler colour.
Shell height is up to 6 mm, and width up to 6 mm.
