Cytapheresis

Cytapheresis is the removal of a cell-based component of blood. It is contrasted with plasmapheresis, which is the removal of blood plasma.
Types of cytapheresis include:
- Erythrocytapheresis
- Leukapheresis (transfer white blood cells)
- Plateletpheresis (transfer of platelets)
