Cyprus massacre

The Cyprus massacre occurred in 1570, resulting in the massacre of c.30,000 [1] [2]-50,000 [3] Christian inhabitants of Cyprus, which had been under the rule of the Republic of Venice, by Turkish forces following the capture of the island.
