Cyprien Katsaris

Cyprien Katsaris (born May 5, 1951 Marseilles, France) is a Franco - Cypriot pianist, teacher and composer.

Katsaris trained at the Paris Conservatory winning the first prize for piano in 1969 and chamber music in 1970. In 1970 he won the Albert Roussel Prize and in 1977 won 1st prize in the Cziffra competition. He has appeared with the major orchestras in the world and has appeared as recitalist as well. He has recorded for Sony Classical and Teldec labels, including the Liszt transcriptions of all 9 Beethoven symphonies.
