Cynthia (1975?-2004) is a fictional character in the survival horror video game Silent Hill 4: The Room, who temporarily accompanies the game's protagonist, Henry Townshend.
[edit] Biography
Cynthia meets Henry immediately after he arrives in the Subway level. She is convinced that she has become trapped in a 'terrible dream'. After admitting her fear of the place, she asks Henry to help her find a way out of the station, indicating that she will repay him with a "special favor". The two separate when she suddenenly becomes sick and rushes into the women's restroom, where she then disappears mysteriously. However, a short while later, Henry finds her once more, locked in a subway car, which he frees her from. After more exploring of the station together, the pair are once again split up. However, Cynthia manages to find a way to the exit of the station on her own, and calls Henry over the public address system, telling him of her discovery and where to go, but she suddenly screams, and begins calling for Henry's help. By the time Henry reaches her, she is covered in blood with the numbers '16/21' carved into her left breast. Though she is dying, Cynthia is still trying to convince herself that it was all a bad dream. When Henry returns to the subway station later in the game, Cynthia's ghost appears before him. She now comes after Henry as the other victims do. She slithers on the ground when being attacked and impales Henry with her bare hands. She somewhat resembles Sadako from the film Ringu at this point in the game.
