[edit] Personal Life

Cynthia Stone was born on February 26, 1926. She was never out to become a huge star but she did star in small television shows and series. In May of 1950, she married a young then-rising star named Jack Lemmon, who went on to become a Hollywood legend. Stone and Lemmon had a young son in 1953 when Lemmon was just starting out his movie career. The baby was named Chris Lemmon, who is now an actor and author. But in late 1956, Stone and Lemmon got a divorce. He was turning into a big star and was often too busy for much time with Stone. Their young son stayed with Cynthia and she become a full-time mum but she still did various television work. After her divorce with Lemmon, she married Cliff Robertson in 1957. She had a daughter Stephanie with Robertson in 1958. But the marriage didn't last long and they were divorced in 1959. The following year, Stone married an unknown man named Robert MacDougall III in 1960. She seemed happy with MacDougall. Every other weekend, her ex-husband and father of Chris, Jack Lemmon, would visit to see Chris and would take him on adventure trips to Alaska. But Chris already understood that he would have to share his father with the public. Stone's marriage to MacDougall lasted until her death on December, 26, 1988. She had died of natural causes. At her funeral, all her closest friends and family attended, including a very upset Jack Lemmon. Chris Lemmon revealed in his book about his father that it was the first time that he had seen his father cry for real, rather than in the movies.
