[edit] List of characters
I thought the list of characters was good but a bit large, I have started a new page List of characters in Cyber City Oedo 808 and was wondering if we could link to that and have a brief outline of all the characters in the series on the main article? Alastairward 12:55, 3 April 2006 (GMT)
[edit] Chinese legend?
I seem to remember reading something about an old Chinese legend on which the names of the three protaganists (well, 'protagonists'...) were based. If anyone knows a bit more about this, it might be worth adding it to the Trivia section. --217.136.187.34 17:45, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
RE:
Indeed it is. It is based of the ancient story of Monkey (the same as the TV show Monkey Magic), as was the already referenced Goku: Midnight Eye. The collars around the necks were the same as the band Monkey wore around his head. In the event Monkey did evil (as he went on a journey not for good, but to help himself out of trouble) the band would shrink and crush his head. Goggles is based of Pigsy, and Benten is based of Sandy. I have a whole article about it in a Manga magazine and the various shows that have been based off the Monkey story. I'd update the page myself but I'm bad at writing these things. -- BooleanGD
[edit] Goggles/Gogl
In the little computer screen bits that flash up during the anime (which have both Japanese and English on them), Gogl is referred to as Gogl (spelled like that, or more precisely, Go•gl - I've searched the internet for a screenshot to prove this but have been unable to locate one). I've watched Oedo 808 in English and Japanese: in the English dub he was called Gogl, in the Japanese version I'm 99% sure he was called Gogl too (or the Japanese transliteration 'Goguru'). I've never seen him being referred to as Goggles, and to be honest that sounds more like the name of a Teletubby than a hardened cyberpunk criminal. Can anyone tell me where this "Goggles" came from, because I'm fairly sure it's an error on the part of the original author of this article. Davers 11:52, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

- Hi Davers, I started the article and went with what I had heard and seen on my UK VHS copies - Gogul. My hearing has led me to misquote quite a few films, so I thought I had done the same here and deferred to the knowledge of others. Two of my VHS tapes came with the rather neat cards on the 3 main characters, but they're back home and it may take me a little while to confirm this. "Goggles" seemed odd to me too, but I couldn't confirm this either way Alastairward 09:50, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Davers, I have the UK and Japanese releases of this series and I took a screen cap of the opening titles; [[1]], you can see it does indeed say Gogl Alastairward 08:24, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thought so. Great work editing the article so far, guys. "Goggles" seemed hilariously out of place, but it was caught. This is what Wikipedia is all about! 80.7.22.59 23:53, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request for additional info
The intro section could really use some additional info on the series, so basically consider this an invitation to include anything you think is relevant and which isn't being mentioned yet. What we should also do is include the ESRB, PEGI, or whatever type of age rating system your local government employs. The problem is, I personally have no idea where to find this kind of info, hence the request for help. 84.192.125.204 11:26, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Oedo intro.jpg
Image:Oedo intro.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Additions
Just added a whole raft of new info and stuff like ogg audio samples. :) what an awesome anime! Terrasidius (talk) 00:43, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] more edits
removed the image as the character is mentioned nowhere else and the pictures should only be the main characters, also added yet more info and fixed some spelling and grammer. Terrasidius (talk) 19:27, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

- Perhaps that pic can be moved to the page for characters from the series? ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ(Ταλκ) 07:52, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
