English: These "jelly balls" are colonies of the cyanobacteria species Nostoc pruniforme in freshwater (determination confirmed by Prof. Dr L. Kies, Hamburg).

Deutsch: Teichpflaumen, Nostoc pruniforme - bei diesen gallertigen Kugeln handelt es sich um Kolonien bestimmter Süßwasser-Cyanobakterien (oder: "Blaualgen"). Vielen Dank an Prof. Dr. L. Kies, Hamburg, für die mikroskopische Nachbestimmung!
