Cuttle Cart
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Cuttle Cart (also known as the SuperDuperCharger during development) is an Atari 2600 cartridge developed by Chad Schell. [1] [2] [3] [4] Similar to the Starpath Supercharger, the Cuttle Cart allows ROM images to be loaded via an 1/8" audio interface such as a cassette tape or CD player. [5] Production of this cartridge has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
The cartridge is rare and released in limited number; only 204 Cuttle Carts were produced and can be found on occasion at sites such as AtariAge, eBay, and Twin Galaxies in the USD $200-$300 range. The device is popular amongst homebrew developers and Atari 2600 enthusiasts.
Following the original Cuttle Cart, Schell released the Cuttle Cart 2 for the Atari 7800, [6] [7] and the Cuttle Cart 3 for the Intellivision console. [8]
