Cute Knight is a casual RPG featuring a single female character with many possible endings and careers. Gameplay is similar to the Japanese Princess Maker with more traditionally Western first-person-perspective dungeons.

Michiko - default name for the player character but can be given any name the player wants. begins the game as an orphan and is looking for her real family which can be discovered through some of the game endings.

Brittany - popular blonde girl, can be met at dance class, shopping, or the flower queen contest

Orchid - the magic teacher

Rose - the magic teacher's daughter, met at magic class

Carmen - gossip, met socialising in the square

Jareth - a thief, met in the slums

Kirelan - the prince, met at the stables

Lisa - the librarian

Shane - the fighting teacher

Every action in the game takes time. Signing up for a class or a job will usually take a week unless a special event interrupts it. Special events usually take one day.

These attributes and skills are monitored throughout the game:

  • Strength
  • Stamina

Stamina affects the character's maximum HP. You can lose health by fighting or just by going too long without sleeping.

  • Mind

Mind affects the character's maximum MP.

  • Combat
  • Weapons
  • Magic
  • Spells
  • XP
  • Sin

Your sin goes up when you kill things, party for money, steal things from jobs, or pickpocket in the town square and it goes down if you work at the church or the doctor's.

  • Dream

Dream shows how creative and optimistic the character is feeling, if she runs out of Dream she gets depressed and the game ends.
