On the back, of which I also have a digital copy is: (top-down) “Freight Team entering Custer City in 1876”. The next line “Custer, South Dakota”. Then “When I am through with this picture it is Howards when he is through with it I want him to give it to Helen. Mother”. Then "I leave this to my son Randy, with love. Helen". Mother is Olive Glendora Poe (Mahnke). “Howard” is one of her sons, Howard Ulrich Mahnke. “Helen” is Helen Elaine Mahnke (Everette Brubaker).
