Custom House is an area in the London Borough of Newham in London, England.
The area is named after the Custom House of Royal Victoria Dock.
The first Custom House in London was built in 1275 and was located near Billingsgate Market in the City of London.
Custom House Hotel (corner Freemasons Road), built in the late 1990's, was largely destroyed by a spectacular blaze on Friday 7th March 2008. The roof, and 5th floor caught alight first. 50 Firemen were needed to quell the blaze. It had been built to service the expected trade from the nearby ExCeL centre. Custom House is growing in terms of different ethnic backrounds in the locality. The area originally consisted of a mostly white communtiy however there have been an increase of different ethnic groups. The two main roads which serve Custom House Are Freemasons Road located near the Custom House DLR sataion, and Prince Regent Lane. Buses Serving Freemasons Road are the 241, 325 and 678(School Journey's Only). The Custom House Surgery is also loacted on this road. The New Gog which was a pub was originally located on this road however it was burnt down some years ago. The Royal Docks Community School Is Sighted On Prine Regent Lane and The Shipman youth centre is also there, as well as some local stores which serve the residents. Buses passing through Prince Regent Are 147,300 & 473.

Custom House has a King George's Field in memorial to King George V. The Canning Town recreational Ground which is located on Freemasons Road is park in which ball games and such are held.
For a brief spell in the early Thirties, Custom House was home to a football league clubs, Thames A.F.C before they folded.
