Cussac is a French commune in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne.

Cussac is situated at 1070 m above sea-level.

On August 29, 1967, two young brothers and sisters (François, 13 years old and Anne-Marie, 9 years old) declare to have been the witnesses of a close encounter with a UFO and its occupants, now known as the Close encounter of Cussac.

Since march 2001, the mayor of Cussac is M. Jean-Pierre Brun.
