[edit] Worth it?

I recently removed the GM field from the Template:NFL team infobox, as many teams don't have an actual "general manager" per se. A lot of "Directors of Player Personnel," "VPs of Football Ops," and other titles with varying levels of responsibility. So putting the GM title on guys like Belichick, as this template does, is a bit inaccurate. Pats1 T/C 00:34, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, there are really only a handful without a guy with that title, so that field should definitely remain in the team infobox.
Anyway, what I did was this: Any team that had a guy with the title, I put him. Most do. That obviously includes guys with the title that don't make personnel decisions (Heckert, etc.). For teams that don't have a guy with that title, I put the guy with final say for personnel decisions (Belichick, Mike Brown, Polian, etc.). I don't think this is too big of a deal. It's not technically accurate, but all those guys have the responsibilities associated with the title of GM, regardless of actual title.►Chris NelsonHolla! 01:11, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Meh, that's still pretty wishy-washy. It's just not the same as something like kickers or QBs or head coaches. Pats1 T/C 00:30, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
