[edit] Portals should not be GA's

After all, a portal isn't an article. Read the criteria, WP:WIAGA, at the bottom, showing that the GA system does not handle pictures, portals, or lists. Homestarmy 18:10, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Showing up completely wrong in Firefox.

Just thought I'd post, when I came here the boxes on the right were going over the boxes on the left. (Firefox 2.0.0.1 on Windows XP)--Flying Canuck 17:16, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

This is how it looks to me:

--Flying Canuck 17:25, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Okay I had a good little sit down with the programming. Let me know if it worked. Mkdwtalk 00:08, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Ya it did, thanks.--Flying Canuck 21:02, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Failed Featured Portal

It should be noted that this portal or any other current events portal can never become a featured portal as decided by the administrator User:Cyberjunkie. Mkdwtalk 01:59, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] August

Current event:

Underground city, Montreal, feared collapse of tunnel roof, August 24. (also WikiNews article). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.205.44.5 (talk) 00:54, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lead Story section

The "lead story" on the portal is from February/07, and it's currently September/07. I removed it and Mkdw reinstated it with the comment "Outdated sections aren't to be removed. Either update them or leave them so someone else can update it." Fine. Who knows how to do that? I have tried and I can't figure it out. PKT 23:18, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

  1. Create a new article at Portal:Current events/Canada/News Feed/Archive/xxxxx (where xxxx is your article)
  2. add <noinclude>{{archive}}</noinclude> [[Category:Current_events_Canada]] to the page you've created
  3. write the article
  4. change Portal:Current events/Canada/Lead Story 's transclusion to {{Portal:Current events/Canada/News Feed/Archive/xxxxx}} from {{Portal:Current events/Canada/News Feed/Archive/LS TSX}} (where xxxxx is your article)
  5. update Portal:Current events/Canada/Archive to link to your article.

And you're done. 132.205.44.5 02:47, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for clarifying that. You also could have clicked the little edit button which appears on every portal ever created, and most articles that have sections. Mkdwtalk 06:46, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
The little 'edit' button doesn't give enough instruction to properly update the Portal. However, I'm here to tellya that the instructions listed above do work, and the lead story has been updated to an article about the Grey Cup. PKT (talk) 13:10, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Import from Wikinews?

This portal, and others like it for other countries, survived a deletion debate only because no consensus was reached. One of the ideas that was discussed was to import current events content from Wikinews, specifically n:Portal:Canada. Does anybody know how to do that? PKT (talk) 13:21, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Political, Economical, Physical, and Social Issues?

I cannot find information about the GDP, imports and exports, history (Aboriginals and Explorers), government (deemocracy), or any other issue listed in the title above. Chimchar monferno (talk) 21:40, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
