[edit] Character Information
Curtis arrived in Summer Bay as a foster child along with his foster sister and girlfriend Shannon. Curtis went to live with Alf and Ailsa Stewart and Shannon was fostered by Michael and Pippa Ross (who only had room for one).
Curtis and Shannon danced with controversy as Alf came home early one day and caught them passionately kissing on the couch. Everything was eventually cleared up.
Curtis quickly made friends with Jack Wilson and they got into various scrapes.
Curtis and Shannon later broke up and Curtis went on to date attractive Italian exchange student, Laura Bonetti who was staying with the Stewarts. Jack and Curtis were both attracted to her, but Laura favored Curtis. All of Curtis' friends weren't keen on Laura's wild, rebellious ways.
One night in 1995, Laura dared Curtis to cross a railway line in front of an oncoming train, Curtis backed out but Laura went ahead and was instantly killed by the train.
Following Laura's death, Curtis plunged into despair and began drowning his sorrows in alcohol. His behavior became destructive (to the point of trashing a classroom). On occasion, Curtis used Ailsa's credit card to order alcohol.
Travis Nash, who had witnessed Laura's death, helped Curtis beat his alcoholism and Curtis then began a relationship with Selina Cook who had pursued him since he had first arrived in the bay.
When Nelson McFarlane, Selina's old flame returned to town, Curtis was worried that she would go back to him, Nelson ended up dating Sally Fletcher and Curtis and Selina stayed together.
Curtis' relationship with Selina didn't last very long and they broke up. Not long after, Curtis began dating Chloe Richards, who was beating a speed addiction. Curtis helped her through it and they began a relationship. Curtis and Chloe's relationship was destroyed after Chloe had been raped.
In his final six months in Summer Bay, Curtis decided to drop out of High School and pursue a surfing career. During this, Jenna Evans (whose real name was Lisa Graham), appeared in his life. Curtis was taken aback due to Jenna's uncanny resemblance to Laura who had died two years previously (they were both played by the same actress). Curtis and Jenna began dating, but Jenna's abusive husband, Sean began breathing down their necks. Eventually, Jenna stood up to Sean and he left.
Curtis later left the bay with Jenna.
