Curt Bramble is an American politician and Certified Public Accountant from Utah. A Republican, he is a member of the Utah State Senate, representing the state's 16th senate district in Provo. Bramble is the Majority Leader in the Utah Senate.

[edit] Early Life and Career
Curt Bramble was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois where he graduated from Crown High School. He grew up as a Methodist and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while attending Notre Dame University where he graduated with a B.A. in Accounting. After graduation from Notre Dame Bramble attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with a M.S. in Accounting. Bramble was elected to the Utah Senate in 2000, defeating Democratic candidate John Curtis in the general election. Bramble was re-elected to the Utah Senate in 2004 and currently resides in Provo with his wife Susan.

Bramble was elected to the Utah Senate on Tuesday, November 7, 2000 and took office on January 15, 2001. During his first legislature in the Utah Senate Bramble served on the Business, Labor and Economic Development, and Revenue and Taxation Standing Committees; and on the Health and Human Services Joint Appropriation Committee. Bramble would sponsor S.B. 76, dealing with property tax appeals, S.B. 174, and S.B. 213 dealing with the Sales and Use Tax which became law during the 2001 General Session. Bramble sponsored a total of 6 bills during the 2001 General Session of which the above three were passed in a final form and signed by the governor. During the second general session of the 54th Legislature Bramble sponsored 11 bills of which 5 were passed and signed by the Governor. These included S.B. 28, S.B. 59, S.B. 62, S.B. 153, and 169 which all dealt with taxation. During the 54th Legislature Bramble was able to pass eight pieces of legislation dealing with taxation.

Bramble is the Majority Leader of the Utah Senate for the 57th Utah Legislature and is the Co-Chair of the Retirement and Independent Entities Joint Appropriation Committee and serves on the Executive Offices and Criminal Justice, and Higher Education Joint Appropriations committees and Chairs the Retirement and Independent Entities Standing Committee and serves on the Revenue and Taxation Committee for the 57th Utah State Legislature.
