Curse of the Spawn

Curse of the Spawn is a spin-off of the popular Spawn comic book by Todd McFarlane. The book introduced other Hellspawns and characters in the "Spawniverse". It was published by Image Comics and has been collected into multiple graphic novels. There were 29 issues.

The first 4 Issues of the series focuses on Daniel Llanso. His story is set in the future, an apocalyptic world some time after Armageddon where evil dominates. Daniel has killed his abusive father in order to save his mother and sister. In prison, he dies and comes back as a Hellspawn. The forces of evil, now gathered within a hell counterpart to vatican city and lead by an "Anti pope", attempt to turn Daniel to their side so he will become Hell's General. Daniel resists at every turn. The Story during Curse of the Spawn ends in a cliffhanger, having Daniel rescuing his grandchild, after being kidnapped by Abbadon and teleports him back to Daniel's sisters, his grandchild's mother, which flead after seeing him and not knowing that he's her brother. The Story concludes in his own miniseries, called Spawn: Blood & Salvation.

The rest of the Curse of the Spawn issues focuses around related Characters from the main spawn series, like Jessica Priest, Sam and Twitch and Angela, Hatchet, and tales of new Hellspawn.

Some of these "new" Hellspawn include an angel sent to spy on Malebolgia is trapped and banished by God when captured and becomes a Hellspawn, and a Greek boy, named Raenius, who was is killed by Zeus and resurrected as a Hellspawn, who kills Zeus with the gorgon Medusa by his side.
