One Piece: Curse of the Sacred Sword (ONE PIECE 呪われた聖剣, ~Norowareta Seiken?) is a 2004 Japanese animated film directed by Kazuhisa Takenouchi and written by Yoshiyuki Suga. It is the fifth animated film in the One Piece series which mostly focuses on Roronoa Zoro.

On Asuka Island, the Straw Hat Pirates learn about the Seven Stars Sword, considered the world's most beautiful sword and a valuable treasure, although it contains a deadly curse. When they come back to the ship, they find Zoro, who was to act as guard, is missing, but they are forced to leave port when they are attacked by Marines. They dock in another section of the island and come across a village, whose job it is to keep the Seven Stars Sword sealed. It is soon attacked by Marines who are trying to free the sword--among whom is Zoro! What reason could Zoro have for doing this? What is the secret of the sword? Why would Marines want it? The answers lie on the night of the red moon.

Luffy and his crew arrive at the busy port of Asuka Island. It is said that Shichisei Ken (Seven Stars Sword), the most beautiful sword in the Grand Line, and dazzling gorgeous jewels were hidden in the island. However, they were more interested in food rather than gold. After they bought food and came back to the Going Merry, Zoro, who was supposed to stay at the ship, is missing. Soon, they set sail to look for Zoro while avoiding the attack of the Marines under the command of Lieutenant Drake. The reach a lake deep in the island. There they meet a beautiful girl, Maya, on the shore of the lake. Luffy asks her about Zoro, but she is scared and runs away. Luffy and Ussop run after her, but somehow, they end up following an animal trail in the opposite direction. On the other hand, Sanji who had followed her, came to a village where armed villagers were waiting. There, Toma a marine swordsman, Bismarck, Boo Kong, and Zoro appear. They wonder why Zoro is with Marines. Zoro wield's sword against Sanji, and took three jewel balls Maya was holding, and then leaves with the Marines. At that time, Luffy loses his way and arrives at the training center of the Marines. There, they meet Saga, the leader of the center, and Toma, his disciple. Toma was glad to meet Luffy, who had a bounty on his head. Saga said Zoro was his friend, and fought with a long sword that emitted an evil sprit. Luffy battled against him, but he fell from the cliff into the river. Clearing the misunderstanding about the fight against the Marines, Sanji hears the legend of a cursed sword that had been passed down in Asuka Island from Izaya, Maya's grandmother. Shichisei Ken was the sword that had ruined the country of Asuka with its cursed power, and had been sealed. It was said to awaken at the night of a red full moon that comes once every hundred years. It is the jewel ball, which Zoro took, that would prevent the sword from awakening. The sword was now owned by Saga, and he made Zoro take the ball to revive its power. What was the relationship between Saga and Zoro? Would Shichisei Ken be revived? All the mysteries would be solved on the night of a red full moon.
