Cumbres de Majalca National Park

The Cumbres de Majalca National Park is located 88 km north-northwest of the city of Chihuahua in the state of Chihuahua. It has an area of 47.72 square kilometres. It has forests of pine and oak, black bears, coyotes, hens, woodpeckers, and hawks are some representative wildlife. It was designated on September 1, 1939. It is known for some of its unusual rock formations that have been created from erosion processes. The area is popular with rock climbers and there are 53 km of roads for hiking and mountain biking. Camping including backcountry camping is permitted and there are rental cabins available. Access to the park is by federal highway number 45 that goes from Chihuahua to Ciudad Juárez.
