- Hello Amerywu. This is a very good essay that explains cultural mediation well, but needs work to change it into a Wikipedia article. I've tagged it with links to helpful info on wikifying and general article-writing guidelines, and I'll try to put some work in on it too when I get some more time. [edit] Re Cultural mediation
Thanks for looking at the article. I was wondering if you could give specific advice on how to make the article conform with wikipedia standartds so I can get the tags removed. Important note. As a graduate student of Vygotsky, I have found that the birthday cake example is a very powerful way of explaining the theory of cultural mediation. Without it, most people under-estimate the power and all encompassing nature of cultural mediation. So I wopuld like to keep the example while mmeeting wiki standards. amerywu Feb 20, 2007
Hi, thanks for the article. I have put a dispute tag against the date given in your example. Elsewhere in Wikipedia the dates of Vygotsky are given as 1896 – 1934. I can't figure what the correct date would then be for your quote. LookingGlass
- There is nothing dubious about that. Please, see the history of Vygotsky's legacy in the West... Oh, as to the "correct" date: the work "The history of development of higher mental functions" was written in 1931 and first published in Russian in 1960. --Yasya 11:24, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
