[edit] Superman equals Christ?

Here are some interesting tidbits:

Jor-El and Kal-El both have the word El in their names, a hebrew word for god.
Kal-El was raised by Martha and John
Jesus was raised by Mary and Joseph

This is actually only the tip of the Iceberg. I've heard that Kal-El means "voice of god" and Jor-El means "anger of god" in Hebrew, but I can't confirm that. If someone who actually knows Hebrew could, that would awesome.

[edit] Wrong Thing

There are some items here about Superman's influence on culture, rather than the other way around. I am removing these. --Chris Griswold 04:45, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Weasel words

This article is strewn and littered with weasel words. 'Some say", "Others say", "This theory" all without citation. A concerted effort to enhance the article with citation should be understaken. ThuranX 21:28, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
