Anyone know a connection with River Culm?
Not as far as I'm aware. My sources give alternative derivations as from Old English col, meaning coal, or Welsh cwlwm, meaning knot (because of the contorted folding of these deposits). --Portnadler 09:37, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
