Culture Shock festival

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Culture Shock is held annually at SUNY Purchase College in Purchase, NY. The outdoor festival usually takes place in mid-April and consistently hosts a vast array of musical artists from many different genres, as well as carnival rides and food vendors in a county fair-type setting. Culture Shock began in the 90's as a showcase of Purchase College Bands, but quickly grew to its current trend-setting status. Until 2004 the festival was organized by the Student Government's General Programming Coordinator, who also organized the multitude of other campus events. In 2004 the position was split into two roles. Now operated by the Major Events Coordinator, the festival continues to introduce new artists to different audiences.
