Cully Hamner (born March 7, 1969 in Huntsville, Alabama) is an American comic book artist. Since his 1991 debut on Green Lantern: Mosaic, Hamner has worked for nearly every major American comic book publisher, and is chiefly known for such titles as the aforementioned Green Lantern: Mosaic, Firearm, Batman: Tenses, and Red. He is also one of the original members of Atlanta's Gaijin Studios, where he still works. His most recent work can be seen in Top Cow's 2005 Warren Ellis series Down and as the primary artist and designer of DC Comics' current Blue Beetle ongoing series. He's also currently Creative Consultant to 12 Gauge Comics, publisher of such titles as The Ride, Gun Candy, Body Bags, and Occult Crimes Taskforce. He is currently working on the upcoming Black Lightning: Year One, written Jen Van Meter as part of DC Comics' 2007 "Year One" event. Hamner designed the visual look of the third Blue Beetle, and was the regular artist for that character's monthly series in 2006 and 2007, leaving that title with its tenth issue, though he continued through the following year as the regular cover artist for that book.[1]
