In the 2006 regular season, Jenkins got time at both defensive tackle and defensive end after former star Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila was benched. He ended the season with 6.5 sacks and is now a highly-regarded player by most scouts.
On February 26, 2007 Jenkins signed a four-year, $16 million contract extension with the Green Bay Packers. The deal included about $6 million in signing bonus.[1]
