[edit] Date of Setting

I based the dating of the setting on the mention of the public interest in war during the second year, due to Essex having just been sent to Ireland - an historical event of spring 1599. The first production of Henry V was also in 1599 according to tradition. The action of the novel took place between one summer season and the next. The dating is thus a direct deduction from the text. Robina Fox (talk) 16:09, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Still, perhaps it smacks of "original research" to be precise when the date is not mentioned in the book, so I am changing it to something more general. Robina Fox (talk) 09:32, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
