From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cuero Independent School District is a public school district based in Cuero, Texas (USA).
Located in DeWitt County, a small portion of the district extends into Gonzales County.
Middle and high school students from the community of Nursery may choose between Victoria ISD or Cuero Independent School District. Because of this, the district also serves some residents from Victoria County.
The high school is well-known for its 3A football program. As of the 2006 football season, the Cuero Gobblers (the mascot comes from the turkey industry which is a major employer in the area) are on a thirty-eight game regular season winning streak. The team usually goes deep into the playoffs and is currently under the leadership of head coach Mark Reeve.
