The Cuban Black-hawk (Buteogallus gundlachii) is a bird of prey in the family Accipitridae, which also includes the eagles, hawks and Old World vultures.
It is resident on the island of Cuba. It was formerly considered conspecific with Common Black-Hawk (B. anthracinus), but nowadays it is recognized as a distinct species by most authorities, e.g. by the AOU which formally acknowledged it as a species in 2007.
Its status was first evaluated for the IUCN Red List in 2008, being listed as Near threatened[1].
