Cuando Cubango is a province of Angola and it has an area of 199,049 km² and a population of approximately 140,000. Menongue is the capital of the province. The governor of the province is João Baptista Tchindandi. According to 1988 US government statistics, the provincial population was 125,600, with just 3,600 living in urban areas. Municipalities in this province include Cuchi, Cuangar, Cuito, Rivungo, Cuanavale, Mavinga, Calai, Dirico and Longa.
The name of the province derives from that of the Cuando and Cubango rivers, which flow through the eastern and western edges of the province, respectively.
