Historical Grand Slam draws
I noticed that you've been editing many of the older grand slam tennis articles. I've recently begun a project to bring comprehensive coverage of these draws (i.e. full brackets) to Wikipedia, and would like some feedback from people who have worked on these articles. See my post at Portal_talk:Tennis. Thanks, --Dantheox 07:14, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Armenian COA
I agree. I think we should change the colors on the COA to reflect those that appear on the Armenian government's website. The color choice on the flag reflects those seen on the RA's website. -- Aivazovsky 15:51, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate them. However, there are still quite a number of players missing from the List of Manchester United F.C. players, so I intend to add all of them to the list before I nominate it. But thanks anyway! Thaurisil 10:41, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

List of Manchester United players
I see that you have been adding as many players as possible to List of Manchester United F.C. players. I found a website that has information on all but one player [1]. The missing player is Alfred Steward. But, is Alfred Steward the same as Alf Steward?. Both are GK, both played about the same time. For the website from above, some players named "Jim" or "Jack" could be under "James" or "John", respectively. Let me know if you need any help! Patken4 02:41, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Country/Language
I normally include them if they're in the article, but as someone that hasn't seen 99.9% of the movies out there, I'm very hesitant to make a wrong guess. I'm hoping that someone that actually knows these things will fill in the blanks.

The Shooting
I've added a cast listing to The Shooting. If you get a chance, take another look at the article and see if you can now upgrade it to B-quality. Thanks!-Hal Raglan 03:50, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for upgrading the article. I've changed the cast listing format back to the version I originally used, since it seems to have worked fine in both Witchfinder General (film) and The Pit and the Pendulum (1961 film).-Hal Raglan 04:01, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
-
- I think you're probably right about most film articles using the ==Level 2 heading== for cast sections. And the guidelines do seem to indicate a preference for that format. My problem with cast listings is that most of them seem to be 1) simply cut and paste jobs from imdb and 2) sloppily inserted into the article w/out any concern for logical placement of the information. Since the guidelines do seem to indicate that the cast section should immediately follow the production section, I'll start doing that in any future articles I write/rewrite.-Hal Raglan 02:06, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Ref format
I noticed you changed all the refs on Minority Report. I'm one of the main contributors to that article, in the future you should note that violates this ruling. Citation templates are not mandatory as is clearly stated on WP:CITET ("The use of Citation templates is not required by WP:CITE and is neither encouraged nor discouraged by any other Wikipedia citation guidelines") and the format used in that article was the same I used on Michael Jordan which recently passed FAC. During the Jordan FAC SandyGeorgia helped me format the refs and they are perfectly within guidelines. I say this because I (like many editors) dislike templates. That said I'm not going to revert them and get into a drawn out argument. Just wanted you to know that doing so in the future without discussion might upset other poeple in the future. Personally I prefer the manual method I do not however go around inserting it inot every article I come across. Quadzilla99 04:53, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Every single one of them was located after punctuation:[2] I think you misunderstood the guidelines the punctuation refers to the punctuation in the text. As I said I went through a prolonged process formatting the refs on Michael Jordan, and they were deemed correct according to every guideline and looked over by SandyGeorgia who knows more about ref formatting than probably anyone on here. Also you clearly changed the entire style from a manual one to the template technique. Like I said I'm not going to move them back, just be aware that many editors don't like templates. I'm mostly telling you this so in the future you don't change the style of an article's ref formatting and upset future editors. There's no need to discuss this in length the refs were formatted corectly, you inserted a personal preference I just commented that in the future you might want to discuss that first as some editors dislike templates. Quadzilla99 05:42, 25 March 2007 (UTC)- That's my bad I totally screwed up. If you look at the version I was referring to it was formatted properly:[3] Another editor added the templates and messed up the punctuation placement. I apologize he didn't mention refs in his edit summary. I assumed it was you. Please forgive my error. Quadzilla99 06:00, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Detail in category order
Hi, I know this is subtrivial, but just for the sake of an easy visual check on whether all basic categories have been given, I arrange them in the order: year, country, language, genre(s), studio, film technicalities, director. I've done this to innumerable film articles and generally drop a word to others, so we all keep the same order. If you find it useful... Hoverfish Talk 07:31, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
300 Devaluation
What criteria turned the article into a B article? Arcayne 22:53, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
No, I wasn't arguing the point. I just thought that an article could still be A class and - due to stability issues, could fall off GA stauts. Honestly, there is far too much tendentious editing going on there between POV contributors and folks just trying to get the article NPOV, shiny and out the door. I'm actually growing a little bit convinced that the that the thin-skinned will sufficiently devalue the article so that in 6 months, they can put it up for AfD. Many of the aforemetnioned editors have done it elsewhere. Arcayne 23:17, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Kotayk beer logo.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kotayk beer logo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:27, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

List of mammal species in Florida
Hi Crzy, how are you? Look, I hate to abuse your goodwill, but I would like to ask if you have any ideas for this article. I still have to organize the refs, but I am not sure what would be important to include there. I was planning to write a couple paragraphs before each list, things like that. What do you think?Hmmm-looks like somebody nominated it to AfD already.--Legionarius 23:22, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Don't worry, it's highly unlikely that it gets deleted. The whole list is organized poorly so far. I see that you're linking to the scientific name, but using the common name (e.g. [[Cervus elaphus|Red Deer]]). I'd suggest to link to the common name and add the scintific name to the list. I also found a featured list that you may skim through, it's List of mammals of Korea. You can keep the ASM state status and red list columns.--Crzycheetah 00:04, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- That was the funniest AfD I ever saw. Anyway - on the Korea list, what I do not like much is the split in families. Speaking for myself, I think that it is easier to use a sortable list to find stuff, like I am doing. I liked the idea to list the scientific name on another field with the authority, I think I will add that. I like linking to the scientific name to avoid confusion - I went to four sources, each one had a different common name (and a scary variety of different scientific names and subespecies), and there is not a clear standard of who is the best. --Legionarius 00:44, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't say to carbon-copy that Korea list, I don't like that theare are so many sections. The reason I offerred that list was that the table was just better organized than yours. Regarding the links: all of the scientific names redirect to the common names, that's why I said it would be easier to just link to the common name.--Crzycheetah 01:03, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, sure, don't take me the wrong way. There are some that are redirecting, and I thought using the redirects I would be "super safe". They way I link it is much easier for me (Excel Macros), but I can always do some de-linking later. For established articles, there is not much of a problem; I worry about uncreated articles, where somebody can create a "common name" article and leave me pointing to nothing. Btw, is there a policy about that? I see fights popping every now and then about redirecting.

I added the column with the S.Ns., expanded a table, changed another, moved a picture. I guess it is looking nice now. Maybe a little lead for each of the two sections, to add a little space. Thoughts? --Legionarius 05:15, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know whether there is such policy or not. It looks much better now. All the hard work is done, IMO. It just needs some make-up. The main lead needs to be longer...That three-picture collage needs resizing, it's too big...The conservation table looks awful...The IUCN images look awful, too, maybe wikipedians from WP:GL may help you out. Oh yeah, you need a paragraph for each section in order to separate them a bit...Your main lists are way too long, is there a way to add the headers in the middle of the table, too, so that they could remind the reader what each column represents?...The headers need a different color, any color other than what the tables have.--Crzycheetah 06:38, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- Phew. A little history:
-
- I gave up and split the sections. Look and navigate much better (against my expectations), surpassing the benefits of having a long sortable list. Btw, I finally learned how to change the header color on sortable lists :-).
- The graphics were improved by the GL people. I think it is important to keep them so it matches other taxonomy articles.
- Reworked the conservation table. It is still not great, but looks a little better.
- I thought the image on the lead would lose a little oomph if reduced, but it actually looks much better now.
- Now I have to add leads to all the sections. Not sure if all the leads deserve their own pictures.--Legionarius 21:00, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- Yes, it looks much better. No, I don't think the section leads need pictures either. The only thing that disturbs me now is Section 3.4, the title is too long. (I don't have any suggestions other than to rename it ;] ).
P.S. Ask others for a review, too, if you haven't done so yet.--Crzycheetah 21:50, 20 July 2007 (UTC)- Will do. I just finished the introductory paragraphs with individual mentions to each species. Thanks!--Legionarius 05:06, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank-you very much for your award of The Template Barnstar for my work on {{county7}}. However, I can't take all the credit - it is based on a series of templates ({{County1}}, {{County2}}, {{County3}}, {{County4}}, {{County5}}) created by Rfc1394. Tompw (talk) (review) 18:57, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
List of counties in New Hampshire
Hi -- Nice job on the new county table for New Hampshire. Shortly after you finished the table, someone modified the table to show that Hillsborough County, New Hampshire has two county seats, Manchester, New Hampshire and Nashua, New Hampshire (which is accurate). However, the template wants to parse the entry as Manchester and Nashua, New Hampshire, and I've been unable to get the two cities to each have their own link. Do you know how to do this with the template? Thanks. --Ken Gallager 12:18, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Clarification
Hi Cheetah, I noticed that you changed the bolding in the first paragraph of List of sister cities in Florida.
