[edit] List of Ohio Counties

Thanks for your work trying to protect and improve List of Ohio county name etymologies... I just attempted to modify the introductory paragraph a little as suggested by one of the critics. If you don't mind, a quick check from you would probably be helpful. Thanks again, --Matthew K (talk) 04:50, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright violation

Hi. Sorry to have to say this, but the article Flag of Armenia, which you have worked on, seems to contain copyright violations. See talk:Flag of Armenia. As someone familiar with the subject, could you work on the article to remove any such violations? Thanks. 4u1e (talk) 09:21, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello again. I've removed or edited the problem areas in the article. I'm worried though that there may be other bits that have been cut and pasted from other websites. Some of the problems look as if they were added by you. The reasons why we don't allow taking material from other articles, even if it's only small bits, are given at WP:COPYVIO. If you think there may be other bits that have been taken from other websites, it would be really helpful if you could identify them (perhaps on the article talk page) and we can work on re-wording them. Happy to discuss. Cheers. 4u1e (talk) 19:34, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Depth charts

Why do the other teams still have their depth chart templates? If they won't get deleted, I will just re-create a template for the Celtics. Because you truly lied when you said that all the templates will be deleted. ● 8~Hype @ 06:33, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Clarify?

I wonder if you can expand on the meaning of this comment? "Outdated" how, specifically? You said "per above", but what had been said above did not mention "outdated". It did mention the lack of references, an issue that had been squarely faced when the list was originally promoted.

A disturbing thing about this particular delisting is that none of the people recommending delisting showed any sign at all that they knew what this list is.

Since no one had mentioned "outdated" until you did, I take it you were addressing some concern other than what had already been said, but you made no attempt to make it clear what that was. Do you find something to be "outdated" in the list's content? Michael Hardy (talk) 22:06, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lakers Project

Hi, and welcome to the Lakers WikiProject! We are a group of (mainly) Lakers fans who help to improve coverage related to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wikipedia.

Looking for somewhere to start? Here is a few suggestions.

  • You can check out topics on the main page.
  • You can add {{WikiProject Los Angeles Lakers}} to talk pages of Los Angeles Lakers-related articles, and assess them as well.
  • Check out the to do list for the WikiProject, and opt to try and complete some of those tasks.

If you have any comments, suggestions, or would like to talk about the project in general, feel free to leave a message on the talk page.

[edit] I ruined your hard work

Hi, Just want to apologise for ruining what you did for the Dallas Mavericks roster here I have tried to undo what i did but it doesn't seem to work so hopefully you can clear everything up. Yesterday when i went onto the 2007-08 page there was no roster so i created it from your template unknown to me there is already one here that users have been using from the start of the season. Its just that it didn't appear on the page, i dont know what happened but hopefully you can fix it up. Thanks and im sorry. Roadrunnerz45 (talk) 05:57, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Comprehensive long lists‎ discussion

Hello, I noticed that you took part in the recent FLRC for List of Arsenal F.C. players and thought you might be interested in participating in a new discussion. The FLRC was closed as no consensus and it is clear the the issue of incompleteness in longer FLs is not over, so a discussion page has been started here. Please feel free to comment. -- Scorpion0422 21:18, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Phil Jackson

I explained the reason why Phil is in the 2006 term not 2005. I hope you agree with what I say. Go to the Lakers' Discussion page for more info.

[edit] NBA all-time rosters

Hey - I still appreciate all the work you're doing putting together more NBA all-time rosters. I have one question though - is there any chance that you can start by default with wikilinks for all the names when you're putting it together? I can help you go through afterwards to fix any disambiguation problems with it, but I think it might be easier to start with just putting in the links when you're typing it up (that's how I did mine, anyway) than putting them in afterward. And, once again, I'll be happy to help check out the links to make sure they go to the right places when they get them up too. matt91486 (talk) 16:14, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I understand, it's definitely easier when people have crazy names and we don't have to worry about disambig problems. I'll probably continue going through the Milwaukee Bucks page some and work on links there when I've got a few free minutes and/or I'm procrastinating. matt91486 (talk) 19:13, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Blue Heelers (season 13)

Hello,

Just in regard to your recent comment at the Blue Heelers (season 13) FLC page:

Do you need to add the retrieval date to the refs for newspaper articles? In response to your first comment that some of the refs needed retrieval dates, I added retrieval dates to a few of the references which were from the web and other sources but I was unaware that newspaper articles needed retrieval dates. Indeed, when I checked the Wikipedia:Citation templates page and scrolled to the newspaper citation template, it did not have a space for retrieval date. This led me to believe that they were not required.

If I am incorrect and in the wrong, I apoligise and will add the retrieval dates for these.

Thanks, Daniel99091 (talk) 07:06, 2 May 2008 (UTC).

Oh... well I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding. I just assumed that when you originally questioned the refs, you were referring to the web links which I indeed had not added access dates to. I will add the retrieval dates now.
Thanks :) Daniel99091 (talk) 07:33, 2 May 2008 (UTC).
Retrieval dates have been added. Thanks for your comments and I'm sorry again for the misunderstanding :) Daniel99091 (talk) 07:43, 2 May 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Boston Celtics seasons

You did a great job at Boston Celtics seasons creating that new table. I have a question, though, why did you hide the old table instead of deleting it?--Crzycheetah 08:28, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

I thought it might be needed somehow in the future. Also, I didn't want to disregard a template update which was made shortly before I finished the table. I really don't know, shall I delete the old table? ● 8~Hype @ 10:55, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Atlanta Falcons head coaches

I've written all that in the lead. There is no point of putting it on the table, since they only had had 1 Super Bowl appearance. Also, I will create the template when I'm done with all the lists - there are around 15 left. The template would be filled with red links. « Milk's Favorite Cøøkie ( talk / contribs) 02:18, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey Crzycheetah, I just wanted to let you know I addressed the template issue by creating {{List of NFL head coaches by team}} and applying it to all the lists created. Hope this helps. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 03:23, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Will do. Sorry but most of them seemed stable, and I went ahead with more. Apologies. « Milk's Favorite Cøøkie ( talk / contribs) 00:46, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Highlander: The Series (season 1)

Hello, thank you very much for spending some time looking at my FLC. I think I have addressed all your comments, do you see anything else ? Have a nice day, Rosenknospe (talk) 10:37, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Colorbox

Nice edit with {{colorbox}}. I actually started working on something quite similar today in my userspace! Do you think {{legend3}} should now be merged into Colorbox? It is currently only used on one article. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs · count · email) 06:08, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Actually I thought Colorbox was better than Legend3, and Legend3 should be merged into Colorbox. For one thing, Legend3 cannot be made into a square box the way colorbox can if no text is added. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs · count · email) 06:55, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, but the 4 nobreakspaces would have to stay in order to keep the box a square. Alternatively, if like on Legend3 "fr" is used, the user could simply do {{colorbox|green|[[France|fr]]}}. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs · count · email) 07:20, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Err.. can you? :) I'm not sure where the nbsps should be placed. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs · count · email) 07:33, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Check out User:Matthewedwards/colorbox now. It's exactly the same code, with documentation. There's a problem with an asterisk, in that it treats it as a bullet point. Perhaps it will need to be explained in the documentation that the html code * must be used. Matthewedwards (talk · contribs · count · email) 07:52, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] NBA team templates

Thanks cheetah for making the changeover for the team templates. I tried to save the templates under just the franchise name (i.e. Template:New York Knicks), but they revert to the team's roster template, so obviously I had to save them under Template:team name franchise. Anyway, nonetheless I appreciate the work. ShawnHill (talk) 16:07, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Closure request

Hello, would you mind closing the FLC for 2006 Winter Olympics medal count? Rambling Man is away until June and I'm trying to clear the backlog. The archive instructions are no longer on the FLC page, but you can find them on my user page under the blue "FLC archive instructions" header (third from the top). Thanks, Scorpion0422 04:22, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Does the list of baryons still look all mangled up?

If so could you take a screenshot of how it looks, because here everything looks fine and dandy? Headbomb (ταλκ · κοντριβς) 23:07, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi. You left a message on my talk page, intended for the creator of {{SubatomicParticle}}. That's not me: I've never even edited that template, I just posted a message on its talk page. I think you want User talk:SkyLined. In any case, the List of baryons currently looks OK to me, so I'm not sure if there's a problem with SubatomicParticle specifically in the first place. [edit] Philadelphia Eagles first-round draft picks

I think I have answered your comments on Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Philadelphia Eagles first-round draft picks could you please check if they have been addressed properly. Thank You. --Gman124 talk 17:58, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

so is it ok now. --Gman124 talk 00:34, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
all the player pages are now created, however I have a question. I don't think that just because a player was drafted by a team makes that player notable enough to have thier own page. For example see Leo Riggs I only found one ref for him and its just one line at the following link, see 1946 in the list, in 1946 year line in the list at the bottom. On that it says that he never played a single down in NFL, so since he never played n NFL an was just drafted so why should a page for players like that be created. In my opinion he's just not notable enough. So why is it that you insist on having pages created for players that didn't even play? --Gman124 talk 14:01, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] List of Los Angeles Lakers first and second-round draft picks

I appreciate your comments and things that I should do to make List of Los Angeles Lakers first and second-round draft picks a featured list. I was also just wondering if you can help me promote the article to featured list status. I would greatly appreciate it. $$Annoyomous24$$ (talk) 22:59, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

  • You're welcome for the barnstar and I already know it's currently not mature enough to be featured. I was also wondering if we should include the Minneapolis side of the draft.$$Annoyomous24$$ (talk) 17:00, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Toronto Raptors draft history

18 days listed, one support, 3 edits (including your two today) since May 30th. No consensus to promote whatsoever and no real effort to change the consensus. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:36, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Okay. Excluding your nom supports and a "Looks good support" drive by (who had reviewed 37 lists in a single one hour session), you had Matthew only supporting. That's not exactly community consensus in my opinion. But I'm happy to take another look, of course. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:59, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
And a couple of other points:

[edit] A Featured List contest

Greetings. FL directors Scorpion0422 and The Rambling Man have decided to run a contest for FL contributors. We are trying to get some interest in the process and get some FLs for the under-represented topics. If you would like to learn more about this contest, you can find such information here. If you are uninterested in it, then you could still help out by reviewing FLCs submitted by the entrants. Thanks for the time, Scorpion0422 18:28, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for entering the contest. You are now able to select the topic that you would like to work on. While it is a good idea to know which specific list you will work on before you select a topic, you do not have to submit your list until Thursday. Once you have a topic and a list, you can start work. However, you will not be able to submit an FLC until Sunday at 00:00 (GMT). Good luck and have fun! -- Scorpion0422 18:12, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] June 2008

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of Minnesota Wild head coaches. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. -Djsasso (talk) 17:21, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

For your information, 3RR does not apply when I revert vandalism.--Crzycheetah 17:26, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
And this is not vandalism. Its a dispute about how content should be laid out, which is exactly what 3RR is about. -Djsasso (talk) 17:33, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello cheetah. Please stop making the Wild coaches article into a 'redirect', without a consensus. Furthermore, if you seek a consensus for such a change? do so for 'all 30' NHL team head coaches articles. GoodDay (talk) 17:59, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
