C' mon this page is still really weak, I have a few suggestions for glass instruments that should be added to this page. I put them under the "see also", you shouldn't have all that much trouble finding them through an internet search engine. IF ANYTHING you have got to see the glass violin. It's BEAUTIFUL, and its sound is as eerie, hypnotizing, and graceful as a dying swan. HARIO has a demonstration for it that I think you would enjoy.

How about instruments with GLASS REEDS do those count as Crystallophones? Or instruments that include glass parts important to their function and ability to resonate. I believe what Badagnani was trying to ask is what do you MEAN by glass reeds. Be more specific, are you talking about any instrument that would use what is called a reed or something else entirely. Furthermore, at least come up with an example of what you're talking about like a Recorder or a Saxophone so the rest of us can know what you're talking about.
Anyways, you do bring up a good point. These insruments could be made entirely out of glass, reed and all, or made of glass with a traditional wooden reed, or even be a common instrument with a glass reed. This raises some questions, what effect does this have on the sound the instrument makes, and where would we even place it within our catagorically organized hierarchy. I suppose a category within a category within a category is the obvious answer, but what about certain instruments that don't fit so well within just one category. Instead, it fits and doesn't fit withing two or even three categories, and those like it are too few to make a special category just for them. Perplexing indeed.

Why don't we just create a list within this page of the various types of Crystallophones and then go from there.
