This caption is incorrect; this is from the 60 Minutes show featuring her rehearsal that evening. According to Simpson's management (her father), she was suffering from vocal strain. The image is of Simpson crying after a particularly bad rehearsal - before her disasterous appearance - and not the performance itself. Her management/father cites this as the reason she chose to lipsync.
