Crystal Springs Uplands School is a private high school and middle school located in Hillsborough, California, an affluent suburb about 20 miles south of San Francisco. Crystal Springs Uplands is a college-preparatory school; most of its graduates go on to four-year colleges and universities after graduation.
Although an all-girls school from its founding in the 1950s (when it was known as Crystal Springs School for Girls) until 1977, it is now co-educational.
The campus is comprised of a gigantic mansion built in the early 20th century, titled "Uplands", surrounded by a series of more modern structures including but not limited to "The Uplands Building" and a state-of-the-art ~$20 million gymnasium completed in 2002.
In 2004 Amy C. Richards from The Spence School became the school's new Head of School. For the school's 50th anniversary during the 2002-2003 school year, a current history teacher, Wells Wadleigh (Chair of the Department), wrote a coffee-table book history of the school.

[edit] Vantage Magazine
Vantage Magazine is a student-run magazine set up in 2005 by the middle school section of Crystal Springs Uplands School. Its purpose is to provide an accurate viewpoint of the CSUS student body. Formerly, it was intended to represent the views of the CSUS middle school, a role it performed well, but recently it was expanded to cover the views of the entire school. Vantage Magazine aims to become a larger influence in the daily lives of students and to become an even more effective representation of the student body's viewpoint.
