Crusoe is a film of the 1989, drawn by the famous one novel of Daniel Defoe and directed by Caleb Deschanel.

Tidewater, Virginia 1808. To the English slaves's seller Robinson Crusoe (Aidan Quinn), needs to effect a new trip near the African continent to withdraw other slaves. During the trip on the ship the irreparable one happens; following a storm the whole crew loses the life, to exception of the protagonist that wakes up again the following day near a desert island. The castaway succeeds in finding again the same day the really dog (Scamp) and the following day some geese also them survived to the shipwreck. In the first periods Crusoe doesn't succeed in perfectly suiting himself for the environment of the island, because of the different one and also unknown disposition of food; in the following days the castaway succeeds in recovering some weapons from the wreckage of the next ship to sink, then he starts to explore, together with the dog, the inside of the island where he realizes that is a place practised by some cannibal native that bring him on this island to complete some human sacrifices. From the following day Crusoe starts to demolish some trees to manufacture him a boat, intenzionato to return home; but the job of it shows at the disappointing end because really in the moment in which the man decides to bring the boat in water, it upsets it in side fill it of water. Resigned, Crusoe is found a cavern that uses as a new house near the beach. Subsequently his dog it starts to get sick and in the attempt, in vain, to give him a spoon of wine, Crusoe finds again his own deprived dog of life on the bed, the following morning. It starts so one period of intense loneliness for Crusoe, up to that he doesn't succeed in perceiving offshore the island some boats, with native brought him on the island for the cremation of their chief and the their sacrifice of three similar. The chief lies dead on a great branches armchair, which fire is given; it happen in the same moment the cut the troath of the three sacrificantis, but in the moment in which it is about to happen the third and last killing, Crusoe, after having followed the scene from a high ground, it shoots a hit of rifle, dissuading so the attention of the cannibal ones. The cannibal bystander (Hepburn Graham) that he musts to be sacrificed, it takes advantage to escape of it, while Crusoe makes the same thing. The two meets by chance him in the forest, inside the island; the cannibal one doesn't oppose any reaction seeing Crusoe aim him a gun and both they reach the beach assuring themselves that all the cannibal are brought on their boats. From this moment the cannibal one, called by Crusoe Lucky, it starts to trust himself of who has saved his life. The same evening however Crusoe, for safety, it doesn't do him sleep with him in the cave and it decides to leave him legacy with a chain to the ankle out of the cave. The following morning Crusoe remains surprised in not to find again the cannibal one anymore where he had left him the preceding evening. Again forwarding himself inside the island, Crusoe perceives some smoke originate in the place of the scarificis where he succeeds in finding again the head cut of Lucky; Crusoe incappa easily in a trap of another cannibal (Ade Sapara) ending in a trap. The cannibal one ties him to a tree near his cave where he is you unharmed up to the following day, the same day when Crusoe seems to want to have a revenge on that cannibal that had made him his prisoner. It starts so a pursuit from Crusoe that tries to shoot to distance the native which succeeds in surprising the same Crusoe and it induces him/it in a struggle the one against the other. The two, however, ends in the mobile sands; the cannibal one, more expert, succeeds in going out of the mobile sands letting Crusoe sink; to Crusoe, by now next to the death, he is granted him clemency from the cannibal one, which decides, to help to go out him lowering him a branch of a tree. Soon the two starts to collaborate; in the local language of the cannibal one, Crusoe succeeds to work to understand the intentions of the cannibal same, which desired to manufacture him a small boat to return home with the help of Crusoe. Completed the job of construction, Crusoe decides rifabbricarsi a second boat; a strange shot however it induces Crusoe to see of thing him it treats and in fact the man succeeds in perceiving a ship. From a high ground Crusoe tries to make to be seen from of the white men, which were found on the island to capture really the cannibal friend of Crusoe. Crusoe however it doesn't waste time and he succeeds in embarking himself of hidden on the ship that will conduct him to house. The crew on board it is composed to also from a scientist, doctor Martin (Michael Higgins), studious of cannibal, intenzionato to bring to London the cannibal one; Crusoe, however, not agreeing with the decision of the scientist, it decides to free the friend without letting from the crew members being seen. Crusoe so definitely leaves the island account making himself than the liberty and the life are precious.
