Crusha

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Crusha is a well known brand of milkshake mix sold in the United Kingdom. The brand first appeared in the 1950s and was bought by the sugar processor British Sugar coming under its Silver Spoon retail brand in December 2001.

Crusha is often the milkshake of choice in cafés but is also sold in shops for home mixing in bottles of from 250ml to 1 litre in size. It used to be sold in glass bottles but it has recently changed to plastic. Crusha is sold in many different flavours of which chocolate, banana, strawberry and raspberry are the most common. Other flavours have also been sold including vanilla, lime, black cherry and pineapple. Two new flavours were released in May 2005: white chocolate and "Wild'n'Fruity". Small bottles of Strawberry, Banana, Chocolate and Raspberry are widely available from supermarkets. The remaining flavours are only available in large bottles from cash & carry stores. Lime crusha is not stocked by many shops any more due to low customer demand. Joel Veitch has recently animated two commercials for Crusha featuring singing kittens. Joel is also known for creating the Quiznos Spongmonkey ads in the United States in 2004.

No added sugar versions became available in 2006.

They recently introduced a Nothing-artificial version of some of their flavours. In August 2007, after receiving thousands of complaints from dismayed customers about the wildly different taste of the new "nothing artificial" version of Strawberry Crusha, it has been confirmed that they will revert to the old recipe. Unsatisfied customers can call the Silver Spoon customer support line and obtain a postal order to buy a new bottle for when they are available to buy.
