Cruising rod

Image:CruisingRod.jpg.A simple computing device that calculates the number of pieces of lumber yielded by a given piece of timber by measuring its diameter. This device is shaped somewhat like a capital F or a series of sewage pipes connected to destinations. It is similar in design to a caliper.
