Cruis'n Exotica is the 1999 sequel to the 1996 arcade racer Cruis'n World. It plays similar to Cruis'n World, but it uses a password system, like San Francisco Rush 2049. The levels take place in exotic locations in the universe, such as Las Vegas, Thailand, and even the surface of Mars.

This game was also released on the Nintendo 64, but like its predecessors the arcade version was far more popular. Unlike most other racing games, the player can choose a character as their driver, including a martian, a baby, a clown, and a cowboy.

Contents

[edit] Cars

Unlike most racing games, Cruis'n Exotica uses real cars (in the arcade version). When it was ported over to the N64, some were canned, renamed, or replaced with futuristic cars.

[edit] Original Cars

  • Cooler
  • "Sundowner", a flat car with a solar panel-back end
  • "Vapor", a futuristic Corvette with rocket turbines
  • "WarWagon"; replaces the Hummer H1 in N64 port

[edit] Trivia/Goofs

  • In the Las Vegas level, there is an Elvis impersonator that looks like Donkey Kong in an Elvis suit. Since the player is going very fast throughout the whole level, it's kind of hard to see.
  • One of the Alaska races in the N64 version is "Bering Strait To Juneau". Juneau has no road access in the real world.
  • Hong Kong is the longest course in the game.
  • In the India level, there is an elephant the player passes which "poops" on the screen which quickly slides off the screen (And breaks the fourth wall). This was removed in the N64 port.
  • In the arcade, flames come from the back wheels when the player does a turbo. In the N64 version, this is changed to tire marks.
  • For every 10,000 miles in the arcade version (if the player has an account) the player gets a free game.
