[edit] Origins
The tour was first formulated in January 2008, by Sixx. Shortly afterwards, the idea was formed to do a tour with both of the bands that he is a member of. The idea of Crüe Fest was created, with Mötley Crüe's intention of bringing a new touring festival of 'bands that embody the spirit of rock and roll'[3] in the same vein as Ozzfest. The official 'new look' Mötley Crüe website ([1]), had promised a special announcement and on April 15th 2008, Mötley Crüe hosted a press conference, where the intentions of the Crüe Fest tour were announced and the band premiered their 'Saints Of Los Angeles' video, as well as performing 'Kickstart My Heart' and 'S.O.L.A.'. [4] [5].
