[edit] About disambiguation pages
The point of a disambiguation page such as CRS is not to list every person, place or thing with the initials "CRS"; this disambiguation is meant to assist a Wikipedia user in finding an existing article whose topic is (or could be) just the letters "CRS".
Before adding a topic to this page, ask yourself:
- If you were looking for this topic on Wikipedia, would you simply and only type "CRS" as your search word?
- Is the topic of the article commonly referred to by the average person as simply and only "CRS"?
Please see Wikipedia:Disambiguation and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) for more info.
[edit] Edits to page on April 20, 2008
Having said that, here are the edits I made to this page:
- Removed red-links and references such as "Cold Rolled Steel" and "Constant returns to scale" since these topics do not currently have articles of their own and/or lack coverage elsewhere in Wikipedia
- Removed links such as Cytokine release syndrome, Caudal regression syndrome and Calorie Restriction Society, since not only do their respective articles not even mention the acronym "CRS", but I did a Google search and didn't find any websites stating they were commonly known as CRS.
- I also changed the link Cornered Rat Software to a piped link. This is generally discouraged, but that page actually redirects to an article about their video game; I've decided to point the link directly to the "Developers" section of that article. I almost considered creating a new page simply about the developers, but, frankly I'm too lazy...
- Removed reference to the ICAO airline designator, Mexico's commercial area. This reference is not pointing to an article about the CRS ICAO code, it is simply giving an example of one of the many possible uses for "CRS." Please remember that disambiguation pages are NOT search indices. References such as these can however be added to lists such as List of acronyms and initialisms: C#CR
Certainly if anyone disagrees with anything I've removed they can feel free to place them back on this page. Marchije (talk) 19:46, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
