I just wanted to let you know that I responded to your comments on my talk page User_talk:Malo#Image:MayorJohnWMorgan.jpg Thanks -- malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 22:27, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Barbara Schwarz

Hi Crockspot. I took off the merge notices from her article and the other one. The idea seems to have died from lack of interest. Steve Dufour 19:29, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, sorry that I forgot to follow up on that one. - Crockspot 16:29, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

BenB4/Butler/Etc

Greetings, I happen to have a few of the admin pages watchlisted and noticed what has been happening. I think you will be ready for another RfA soon. It WILL happen as you are a great contributor. Despite the off-wiki links, your on-wiki behavior looks to be stellar with nearly every action I can find being one that is trying to defend the best interests of the project. Chill and you will get the buttons soon enough (you may wish you didn't have them from what I hear).

Anyway, keep up the great work! Spryde 11:01, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Your input is requested here. Thank you. --profg 20:31, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Well

Thank you for this barnstar. And it might sound controversially, given my stance for this, but I will keep it.

Bearian's RfA

Hi, thanks for supporting my RfA, which passed 63 to 1. I hope that I am doing a good job so far. Bearian 20:57, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Congrats. I'm glad to see that my support did not blow your chances. - Crockspot 21:22, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Ref tags

I noticed your message to user:EEEEE, who I have watched. I have User:Travb#Ref_tags which takes up much, much more space. You can copy it if you like. Travb (talk) 22:53, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

"Axe to grind"

While having a warning removed can feel like a slap in the face, saying Krimpet has an axe to grind is probably a tad harsh. People make mistakes, people overreact...but unless there is a pattern of behaviour on Krimpet's part, there are probably better ways to characterise the block. Guettarda 19:40, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

  • I will consider refactoring. - Crockspot 19:41, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

comment at NPA

Crockspot, hi. Please see my comments at the bottom of WT:NPA. I would urge that your post to Alecmconroy and Dtobias is a personal attack, and an unsubstantiated one at that. Moreover, the tone of your post was extremely combative, contemptuous, and unlikely to be helpful in any way. If you're unable to discuss without being vulgar and insulting other editors, I suggest you walk away from the computer until you can edit with a cool head. If you insist on making such remarks, I or another administrator will be forced to block your account to let you know that we're serious about not tolerating personal attacks. Thank you for understanding. -GTBacchus(talk) 21:51, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Look, I'm sorry. I was trying to civilly suggest that your reaction to those guys was over the top, and then the way you responded set me off, and I wish it hadn't. I was trying to play the peacemaker, and I screwed up. I'll try to learn from this. -GTBacchus(talk) 22:03, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
You were right, I was over the top. But I had already mentally dropped it with those editors when we started up. Alecmconroy had just finished telling me that he was edit warring to "take MONGO out" of the discussion and not let MONGO "have his way". Dan Tobias has also posted plenty of crappy things about MONGO to the wikien-l mailing list, and if I recall correctly, repeated some libel about me there as well (during my RfA), so there was no way I was going to apologize to either of them. I am normally much more civil, and have even been known to apologize when I wasn't. The lack of nicotine really started to hit me yesterday, and is even worse today, so I'm really on the edge of crankdom right now. I should just stay out of disputes for a few days. - Crockspot 23:04, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
We all slip occasionally. Congratulations on quitting smoking - I admire that. :) -GTBacchus(talk) 03:08, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

C/158/101

No, I'm not. What exactly is C/158/101?--Phoenix 15 (Talk) 17:57, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

See The Phoenix Nest. Many of those guys still go by their callsigns, which were PhoenixXX (Replace XX with a number). My cousin was KIA in that unit, so I am always interested to run into some of those guys here and there. - Crockspot 17:59, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Oh, sorry about your cousin--Phoenix 15 (Talk) 18:07, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
It was a long time ago, and he was right where he wanted to be. - Crockspot 18:09, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

FM

I just became aware of the RfA/ferrylodge accusations. I was responding to this comment left by FM User_talk:Tstrobaugh#WP:CIVIL, even though OM had used the vulgarity on my page first and I was merely responding to him using his words as the title. It wasn't even a comment. I was just trying to get FM to apply his warnings equally, apparently he has more serious matters to handle now. thanks.Tstrobaugh 17:19, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes, he is in a bit of a pickle right now. - Crockspot 17:22, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Not really, I'd put it down to stress. Oh, WP isn't censored, so while fuck may be "vulgar" (as in common) or offensive to somer, it's not illegal, nor is it actionable. If you wish to discuss linguistics and semantics, drop me a line, •Jim62sch• 23:27, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
FM is in a bit of a pickle? Really? Why's that? Know something that the rest of us don't know? Or did B leave us because maybe, just possibly, there was a slight chance he had his head up his.....oops I mean he was barking up the wrong tree? OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 04:05, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
I was wondering when you would get around to pestering me. Being accused of admin-tool abuse before ARBCOM is not a very comfortable position to be in. How would you characterize it? Deep yogurt? Bed of roses? - Crockspot 23:11, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

You can do it!

Smoking cessation is never easy...you can do it!...shoot me an email if you start to go nuts! Congratulations!--MONGO 08:08, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Nine days. And I haven't broken any necks. :) - Crockspot 23:12, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Is this right (Re: Reid-Limbaugh letter controversy)

In the infobox, "EIB Southern Command"?

In fact, should location even be there? I would edit it but I am not as familiar with this controversy as you appear to be (looking at your edits). Spryde 17:01, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

  • I've just been formatting all the references so we can see what we have there for sourcing (looks pretty good actually, no poor quality sources at all). But I'm not sure why that info box is even there. But yes, the EIB Southern Command thing is an inside dittohead joke. - Crockspot 17:04, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Figured. Last time I listened to him was in the late nineties and I am guessing this is something more recent. Still riling up people as always I see :) 17:18, 23 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Spryde (talkcontribs)
      • It could almost be classified as a "current event". The auction was just a few days ago. - Crockspot 17:21, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
        • I edited the original infobox a few days again to make it more presentable. I put EIB Southern Command as the infobox had a location descriptor, and since its last known location was at Rush's residence, which he calls EIB Southern Command, I put it there. I have heard nothing about the letter now being in Betty Casey's hands.--Bedford 22:50, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: Margery Eagan

I've restored this article at your request. I'll wait a few days before sending it to AFD so you have a chance to improve it. - KrakatoaKatie 19:50, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Thank you. - Crockspot 19:51, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

User:Athaenara to get mop?

I believe you're familiar with Athaenara's work at WP:BLPN etc. You might want to visit Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Athaenara. Cheers, CWC 11:06, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
