[edit] Keithville
First, please note that I'm not the only one besides you that's editing the article; your last edits were immediately followed by User:VerruckteDan. I don't live in Caddo Parish; you can see on my userpage that I'm from western Ohio (see the attached map), and the closest I've been to Caddo Parish is probably Madison County, Mississippi. Overall, I remove things I find inaccurate (for example, the idea of it being a city, which is contradicted by Census data) and unsourced, or otherwise problematic. - Of course the Census came to your door, but just because they did doesn't mean that we can say Keithville has a specific set of demographics. Who's to say where Keithville begins and ends? It's not a census-designated place or a municipality, so we can't say where its boundaries are. Nyttend (talk) 05:10, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Who determined the boundaries that you mentioned? Nyttend (talk) 05:26, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- That's not how it works. Counties are created by the Louisiana State Legislature. Cities and towns and villages are created by people who live in an area and form a municipality of whatever previously mentioned type. Otherwise, communities are unincorporated; the only unincorporated communities that have formal boundaries are census-designated places, and their boundaries aren't set by the legislature: they're drawn by the United States Census Bureau in order to facilitate the collection of statistics. Nobody sets other unincorporated communities' boundaries. Nyttend (talk) 06:13, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
