Template talk:Croatian parliamentary election, 2003

I think, this template is not really correct. The correct name for HDZ in english e.g. is "Croatian Democratic Union" and as I see on [1] HDZ gained 41,7%. Please correct! --Neoneo13 21:44, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

UN report on page 19 says HDZ has won 62 domestic seats and all four diaspora seats, which agrees with template. The percentage is the uqestion. The percentage in the template is of number of voters that voted, while your percentage is the number of seats. It appears that HDZ has won 43.42% seats (66 out of 152) with 33.9% votes out of 61.7% turnout.
This means, the Croatian election system is designed in such way that it enabled HDZ to seize 43.42% seats with 20.91% votes of total registered voters. HDZ's voting machine is highly motivated, and it seems that this 20.91% of registered voters gives HDZ enough power to pull the country without referendum into NATO, which makes me doubt the basic foundations of democracy. -- Mtodorov 69 13:56, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Percentages of Seats
I calculated percentages of seats against 151 total states in table. This shows how Croatian election system favors major parties.
