Talk:Crossroads, Bellevue, Washington
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Someone said that the mall took its name from the neighborhood, but I'm not sure that's entirely correct. I also grew up in the area and have looked at a lot of old maps, not once have I seen a reference to crossroads on maps from the 1950's or 60's; this whole side of town was not really developed until the 70's, the whole area was pretty much "Overlake". Am I wrong?
Also someone said that there's a skate park in Crossroads park? Where is it? long has it been there? That area that was formerly the roller rink that was turned into part of the park is not a skate-park. --Kraftlos (talk) 19:45, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- I agree that Crossroads is a mall, not a neighborhood. People may say, "I live in the Crossroads area" to indicate the neighborhood in reference to the mall for outsiders possibly, but my understanding is that to the south and west, this area is Lake Hills, and to the north and east it is Overlake. The content of this page sounds like an advertisement and would be more appropriate for a page about Crossroads Mall, Bellevue, Washington. --DerRichter (talk) 00:56, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Audiovore (talk) 05:50, 31 May 2008 (UTC) I do not agree with you DerRichter. I was born in Overlake Hospital, and raised till now(21yrs) in the Crossroads area. This whole time I have thought of it as a neighborhood. It extends to Main St in the south, Northup Way in the north, 148th(farther down 8th) to the west, and all the way to 173rd Ave & Northup Way in the east. And if this is just a 'commercial' for the mall, what pray tell of the Lake Hills Shopping Center? Is the Lake Hills region(see how I also do not refer to it specifically as a 'neighborhood') an advertisement campaign also?
- Well if you read the article, it just talks about the mall and park, but there is really nothing about the neighborhood. Also, Lake Hills is certainly a neighborhood after which the non-notable shopping center there was named. --DerRichter (talk) 17:49, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
