I've always thought that crock was short for crock of sh*t. Obviously this is vulgar, but should it be included here? Scott Carpenter 06:40, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

In some places this is so, but I have heard, and use, the word in the sense given here. It's not uncommon in engineering circles. Whether to add this alternative (or expansion, I'm unclear about the priority) is more difficult. Perhaps cos deserves its own article? Or not? Also, is there any source for Crock of Shit being American, isn't it an australian phrase?
